Information You Provide
Search Terms
When a name, location, or other detail is entered into a third-party search box, that query is sent to the provider that powers the search tool. Sauk County Inmate Population does not host an official jail roster, does not run the partner's database, and does not keep its own local log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read it, respond, and manage the request. We do not share those direct messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement makes disclosure necessary.

Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand site traffic and how visitors move through pages. Browser settings can block or delete cookies. Some analytics, advertising, or search features may work differently if cookies are limited.
How Data Is Used
Collected information is used for ordinary site functions, not to create official custody files or government records.
- Keep pages available, fast, and usable.

Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail information, Wisconsin court and DOC tools, federal locators, Wisconsin VINE, and third-party search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the privacy policy and terms of the outside website control that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure ad views or serve interest-based ads across websites. Their tracking, opt-out tools, and retention rules are managed by those partners, not by Sauk County Inmate Population.

We do not sell personal data as a standalone product. Limited data may be handled by service providers or disclosed when the law requires it.
- Search partners that process submitted lookup terms.
