Why This Site Exists
Wisconsin treats many jail, court, and law-enforcement records as public records, but the public path is not always obvious. Sauk County does not publish an official searchable current inmate roster in the research reviewed for this project, and custody information may sit in different county, state, or federal systems depending on the case stage.
This site is built to sort those record categories without turning them into one blended database. Local jail custody, state corrections records, court filings, and federal custody records answer different questions.
